Foreign ministers of the Group of Seven countries have reaffirmed that they will take additional measures against Russia until the country stops its invasion of Ukraine. The ministers, including Japan's Hayashi Yoshimasa, met in Brussels on Thursday to discuss the Ukraine situation. The meeting came after reports that many civilians were found dead on the outskirts of the capital Kyiv following a withdrawal of Russian troops. The ministers said that those who committed war crimes must be held accountable, and agreed to support an investigation into the matter by an international organization. Later, Hayashi attended a meeting of foreign ministers from NATO and its partner nations, such as Japan, South Korea and Australia. He is believed to have pointed out that China has not condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Hayashi is also thought to have called on the participants to work together more closely, noting that security issues in Europe and the Indo-Pacific region cannot be discussed separately.
