Zelenskyy denies receiving draft of Moscow's ceasefire proposal NHK

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denies receiving a draft document outlining Moscow's ceasefire conditions that Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov says he gave to Kyiv.

Zelenskyy spoke at a news conference on Wednesday after meeting with European Council President Charles Michel in Kyiv.

He thanked the EU for its pledged military aid of 1.5 billion euros, or about 1.6 billion dollars, and said it was agreed that these funds would be used to provide Ukraine with the weapons it needs now. He stressed that the weapons should be supplied before it's too late.

Zelenskyy said there are two ways to unblock the besieged port city of Mariupol. The first is to provide substantial assistance to the Ukrainian military and the second is diplomatic.

He noted that so far Ukraine does not have enough equipment and Russia is not ready for a peaceful solution.
