They reported 2,999 new infections. That's down by 3,053 from a week ago, representing the 23rd consecutive day of week-on-week decline.
The officials also announced that six people in their 60s through 90s died from causes related to the virus.
The officials added that as of Wednesday, 10 coronavirus patients are on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines. That's down one from the previous day.
