Tokyo confirms 2,320 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday NHK

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government confirmed 2,320 new infections of the coronavirus on Thursday.

The daily tally is down by 3,074 from a week ago, marking the 24th consecutive day of week-on-week decline.

The seven-day average through Thursday stands at about 3,016. That's 59.7 percent of the figure for the previous seven-day period.

Tokyo officials reported four deaths from the virus on Thursday.

They said the number of seriously ill patients on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines in the capital is 10, unchanged from the previous day.
