The Tokyo Metropolitan Government says it confirmed 2,681 new cases of the coronavirus in the capital on Friday. The daily count is down about 1,200 from a week ago, marking the 25th consecutive day of week-on-week decline. Tokyo officials say eight patients are in serious condition on Friday and being treated with ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines. The figure is down by two from Thursday.
