Russian forces have reoriented their campaign in Ukraine toward the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk. On Thursday, some Ukrainians said they worry the Russians may want to grab even more territory.

Separatist officials in the Kherson region plan to ask leaders in Moscow to annex the area by the end of the year.

An adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andryushchenko, said some residents are afraid the same thing could happen there. They believe a referendum could even be held this week.
