Sweden's ruling Social Democratic Party decided on Sunday to support the country's plan to apply for NATO membership, reversing its previous opposition to the move. Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson spoke to reporters after the decision was announced. She said that joining NATO would be the best thing for the security of Sweden and the Swedish people. Andersson said that the plan will be discussed in parliament on Monday. She indicated that the government will later make an announcement about a formal decision.
