US President Joe Biden has condemned a mass shooting in New York state, calling it a "stain on the soul of America."
A white 18-year-old gunman opened fire at a supermarket in Buffalo on Saturday, killing 10 people and wounding three others.
Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia told reporters on Sunday, "The evidence that we have uncovered so far makes no mistake this is an absolute racist hate crime that will be prosecuted as a hate crime."
Authorities said the suspect shot 11 Black and two white victims while livestreaming the shooting with a camera attached to his body.
Biden said in a speech on Sunday, "A lone gunman, armed with weapons of war and a hate-filled soul, shot and killed 10 innocent people in cold blood."
He urged the public to work together to address the "hate that remains a stain on the soul of America."
The White House said in a statement that Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will visit Buffalo on Tuesday.
