The Japanese labor ministry&#039;s Tokyo bureau has begun offering job consultation services in Ukrainian for evacuees from the nation to help them find work in Japan.
                
As of May 15, 984 Ukrainians have fled to Japan. One of the tasks Japan faces in accepting these evacuees is to support anyone who wishes to work.
                
The Tokyo Labor Bureau on Thursday opened a dedicated help desk using the Ukrainian language at the Tokyo Employment Service Center for Foreigners in Shinjuku ward.
                
Its staff will ask the evacuees about the jobs and qualifications they had in Ukraine, and what occupations they are searching for.
                
The staff will look for work using job-vacancy information from Hello Work public job centers and offers to the Immigration Services Agency from companies nationwide. They will also help the evacuees fill in job application forms and prepare them for job interviews.
                
The free consultation in Ukrainian will be available every Thursday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Appointments are required.
                
The employment service center says consultations in English are available on other weekdays.
                
Ogaki Takao of the center says he&#039;s aware that many evacuees have financial worries. He says the center wants to help bring stability to their lives through job assistance.
                
The Osaka Labor Bureau will also start offering similar services to Ukrainian evacuees on Friday at the Osaka Employment Service Center for Foreigners.
