Ukraine's defense minister says his country will receive Harpoon anti-ship missiles from Denmark with the help of Britain.

Oleksii Reznikov announced this on the official website of the defense ministry on Saturday.

Reuters news agency reports that the process to receive the missiles is underway.

Denmark had pledged to provide Harpoon missiles at the request of Ukraine as Russian ships blockade Black Sea ports, disrupting Ukrainian grain exports.

Reznikov says he is confident that the Harpoons and Ukraine's Neptune missiles will help his country liberate and make the Black Sea safe again, and reliably protect Odesa.
