The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven nations have condemned the recent launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile by North Korea.
                
The G7 ministers issued a statement on Monday saying that they &quot;condemn in the strongest terms&quot; the test conducted on May 25.
                
They said that this act &quot;undermines international peace and security as well as the global non-proliferation regime.&quot;
                
The foreign ministers called on North Korea to &quot;abandon its weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner&quot; and accept the repeated offers of dialogue.
                
Referring to the &quot;already dire humanitarian situation&quot; in North Korea, the ministers urged the country to &quot;facilitate access for international humanitarian organizations and for independent assessment of humanitarian needs such as food and medicines as soon as possible.&quot;
                
The ministers said they &quot;deeply regret&quot; that the UN Security Council failed to adopt a draft resolution aimed at condemning North Korea&#039;s recent ballistic missile launches and strengthening measures against the country.
                
They urged all UN member states, especially Security Council members, to join the G7 in condemning North Korea&#039;s behavior and reaffirming the country&#039;s obligation to abandon its weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs.
                
They stressed the need for a united response by the international community.
