New data from Japan's government shows the country's job market is gradually recovering from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The unemployment rate dropped slightly in April for the third straight month. Japan's internal affairs ministry said on Tuesday the country's seasonally adjusted jobless rate stood at 2.5 percent in April. That's down a tenth of a point from the previous month. The unemployment rate is now at its lowest level since March 2020, around the start of the pandemic. Meanwhile, labor ministry officials say the ratio of job openings to job seekers was 1.23. This means there were 123 openings for every 100 applicants. That number has risen for four straight months.
