As the war rages, Ukrainians were given a chance to celebrate, after their football team&#039;s victory over Scotland.
                
They beat the Scots 3 to 1 at the World Cup qualifier on Wednesday.
                
The match was originally scheduled to take place in March but was postponed due to the ongoing invasion.
                
Veteran captain Andriy Yarmolenko put Ukraine ahead in the 33rd minute. The visitors added two more goals early in second half and in stoppage time.
                
After the match, Ukraine&#039;s head coach dedicated the victory to those defending the country.
                
Oleksandr Petrakov said, &quot;I have no emotions to be honest with you. All of my emotions are left on the pitch. This victory was not for me, it wasn&#039;t for the team members, it was for our country so it was a huge win for Ukraine.&quot;
                
Ukraine&#039;s fans flocked to the stadium in Glasgow. They came from around the world as far away as the US, Australia and other regions.
                
One Ukrainian fan from New York said, &quot;Just because of how big this match is not only to qualify for a World Cup but just to bring attention and awareness to Ukraine and the people and the effort so it&#039;ll be great.&quot;
                
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hailed the team&#039;s win. He thanked the squad, calling the game &quot;two hours of happiness&quot;.
                
Ukraine will secure a spot at the World Cup finals in Qatar if they beat Wales on Sunday.
