Ukraine's military intelligence agency says that a shortage of spare parts at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in the country's southeast poses a threat to its stable and safe operations.
The agency said on social media on Friday that an explosion from a Russian attack near the nuclear plant had caused an oil leak. The facility was seized by Russian forces in early March.
It said the damage had been repaired but that there were almost no spare parts left. It said the plant was in a critical situation and stable and safe operations could not be guaranteed.
The agency also suggested that the occupiers may be planning to send power from the Zaporizhzhia plant to Russia.
The Zaporizhzhia plant is one of the largest nuclear power plants in Europe.
