Britain said it will provide multiple-launch rocket systems to Ukraine to help the country defend itself from Russia.
The UK Ministry of Defence said on Monday that the decision to supply M270 launchers is coordinated closely with the US decision to give Ukraine mobile multiple-launch rocket systems.
The ministry describes M270 launchers as being able to strike targets up to 80 kilometers away with precision-guided rockets.
It did not disclose how many launchers will be provided, but said Ukrainian troops will receive training in Britain.
Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said, "As Russia's tactics change, so must our support to Ukraine."
Wallace also said "These highly capable multiple-launch rocket systems will enable our Ukrainian friends to better protect themselves against the brutal use of long-range artillery."
