A Japanese tech company is hiring Ukrainian engineers as a way to support people in the country. Tokyo-based i3Design has a software development base in Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine. About 15 employees worked there before the Russian invasion. Now, there is only one, while others are working online from where they are living after evacuating. Last month, the company hired a Ukrainian man and his Japanese wife who have evacuated to her home country. The couple will help it recruit Ukrainian IT engineers to work online. Ukraine is known for its large number of skilled tech professionals. The firm is planning to hire about 10 people this month. i3Design President Shiba Yoichiro said "Creating jobs for talented young engineers in Ukraine is one way we can make a contribution." Shiba added that he wants to continue to support Ukrainians on a long-term basis.
