Ohtani was the starting pitcher against the Boston Red Sox on Thursday. He pitched a shutout for his first 4 innings.

But in the top of the fifth, a sacrifice fly drove in a run.

Ohtani soon took back what he lost. In the bottom of the fifth, he smacked a two-run homer to centerfield, giving his Angels a 2-1 lead.

Ohtani allowed only one run in his 7 innings on the mound.

His combined pitching and hitting tipped the game in the Angels favor, 5 to 2, ending the longest losing streak in the team's history.

Ohtani notched his 4th win and his 12th homerun of the season.
