Japan's minister in charge of coronavirus measures says the government is closely monitoring the situation, as the number of new cases continues to rise in the country. Yamagiwa Daishiro told reporters after a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday that government officials are aware that infections with Omicron's sub-variants, BA.4 and BA.5, have been reported abroad.
