Ukraine&#039;s government estimates the cost of rebuilding the country following Russia&#039;s invasion at 750 billion dollars.
                
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal revealed a recovery plan at a conference in the southern Swiss city of Lugano on Monday.
                
The plan is split into three phases. The first stage involves the reconstruction of lifeline infrastructure, including water supply and bridges, followed by the rebuilding of such facilities as schools and hospitals.
                
The government says it will then take on long-term challenges, including how to get the economy back on track in an environmentally-friendly manner.
                
The prime minister suggested that Russian assets that have been frozen in western and other countries as part of sanctions against Moscow should be used to rebuild Ukraine.
                
The Ukraine Recovery Conference brings together officials from some 40 nations, the European Union, the World Bank and other international entities. On the final day of the conference on Tuesday, representatives from participating nations will announce their support plans.
