Japanese wheelchair tennis star Kunieda Shingo has clinched his first Wimbledon title, completing a Career Golden Slam of all four majors and the Paralympics. Kunieda defeated Britain's Alfie Hewett 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 in the Wimbledon final on Sunday, capturing his 28th Grand Slam title. Kunieda is currently the world's top-ranked singles player while Hewett is second. Kunieda has been left with disability in both legs since he suffered a spinal cord illness at the age of nine. The 38-year-old has competed in five consecutive Paralympics since the 2004 Athens Games, winning the singles gold medal in three of them, including last year's Tokyo Games. He also took the doubles gold in the 2004 Games.
