French President Emmanuel Macron has visited the Japanese ambassador's official residence in Paris to offer his condolences on the death of former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo. Macron signed a condolence book in front of a portrait of Abe on Monday. Macron wrote that Abe's passing is a great loss for France, and he was saddened to lose a friend. Macron later told reporters that his condolences, as well as his feelings of friendship and affection, go to Abe's family and the people of Japan. Macron praised Abe's courage and boldness and described him as a politician who devoted his life to Japan and its people.
