Japan's Meteorological Agency reports that record hourly rainfall has fallen in two areas in western Japan on Saturday afternoon. The agency says radar data show an estimated 110 milliliters of rain fell in Kagamino Town, Okayama Prefecture in just one hour up to 4:50 p.m. It also says an estimated 100 millimeters fell in Okinoshima Town in Shimane Prefecture in one hour up to 4:30 p.m. The agency says the risk of rain-triggered disasters is increasing, and is calling on people to ensure their safety.
