EU proposes member states to cut gas use by 15% amid reduced supplies NHK

The executive arm of the European Union has proposed that member states should cut their gas use by 15 percent from August through March amid reduced supplies.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said at a news conference on Wednesday that Russia was blackmailing the bloc and "using energy as a weapon."

She said that Russia could totally cut off gas flows to Europe and everyone must get ready.
