A Vietnamese man has been slashed in the face and chest outside his apartment building north of Tokyo.
The 27-year-old man was attacked with what appeared to be a knife early on Sunday morning in the city of Joso, Ibaraki Prefecture. His injuries are reportedly not life-threatening.
Police are looking for the person who fled the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. They say details of the suspect, such as gender and age, are unknown.
The apartment building houses many technical trainees from overseas.
