The first shipment of grain to leave Ukraine since Russia blockaded the Black Sea is now anchored off Turkey for inspection. It left Ukraine after the UN and Turkey brokered a deal to resume exports. The cargo vessel Razoni set sail on Monday from the southern port of Odesa. It's carrying more than 26,000 tons of corn. About 20 people from the Joint Coordination Center boarded the ship on Wednesday to check it for unregistered crewmembers or cargo. The center was set up by Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN to monitor the passage of ships carrying Ukrainian grain. After the inspection, the ship is set to continue on to its destination, Lebanon. Ukrainian authorities say 16 other ships are on standby. An intelligence update from the British defense ministry suggests Ukrainian forces are targeting logistical supply routes in areas of the country controlled by Russia. It says a Ukrainian attack on a Russian ammunition train in the Kherson region makes it highly unlikely that the rail link connecting Kherson to Crimea is operational. To counter the attacks, the Russian military is thought to be moving its troops from eastern Ukraine to the southern parts of the country. Analysts are watching if fighting in the south could affect the ongoing operation to export Ukrainian grain from Black Sea ports.
