Biden leaves for Delaware after negative coronavirus tests NHK

US President Joe Biden has left the White House for the first time in 18 days after testing negative for the coronavirus for a second straight day.

Biden headed to his vacation home in Delaware on Sunday. Before departing, he told reporters he was "feeling great."

The White House released a report from his physician on the same day.

The doctor said the president's antigen test came back negative for a second consecutive day on Sunday morning. He added that the president "will safely return to public engagement and presidential travel."

Biden first tested positive for the virus on July 21, then tested negative on July 26 and 27. But he had a rebound case on July 30 and carried out his duties while isolating in the White House.

On Monday, Biden is scheduled to visit Kentucky, where massive floods triggered by torrential rain have left many people dead and caused extensive damage across wide areas.
