The first cargo ship to depart Ukraine under a UN-brokered deal has been stranded after the buyer of its cargo refused to accept it. The Ukrainian Embassy in Lebanon tweeted on Monday, "the final buyer in Lebanon refused to accept the cargo due to delay of delivery terms." The embassy said the shipper is now looking for another consignee in Lebanon or another country. The freighter left a port in the southern Ukrainian city of Odesa on August 1, carrying 12,000 tons of corn. This marked the resumption of Ukraine's grain exports after Russia had blockaded the Black Sea. The ship was expected to dock at a Lebanese port as early as last week. Lebanese authorities say that as of Monday, they had not received notice from the vessel that it wished to enter port.
