Tokyo reports 14,451 new COVID cases on Thursday NHK

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government reported 14,451 new cases of coronavirus infection on Thursday.

The number is down 8,678 from last Thursday. The daily total in the capital has now fallen week-on-week for 11 straight days.

The seven-day average of new cases as of Thursday stood at 15,051, down 35.4 percent from the previous week.

The number of COVID-19 patients listed in critical condition, on either ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines, was 34, up one from the previous day.

There were 30 deaths linked to COVID-19.
