Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has sought continued military and financial support from Germany in a meeting with its leader.
Shmyhal met German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin on Sunday.
He said on social media that he and Scholz "discussed strengthening defense capacity and further comprehensive support."
Shmyhal has also said that his country expects to soon receive 5 billion euros, or roughly 4.96 billion dollars from the European Union.
The German Chancellor's office said Scholz saluted Ukraine for resisting the Russian invasion for over six months. Scholz was quoted as saying that Germany will continue to support Ukraine not only militarily, but also politically and financially.
Despite claims that the prolonged fighting is eroding support from Western nations for Ukraine, Germany has shown continued solidarity with country.
