The coffin of Queen Elizabeth II, Britain&#039;s longest-serving monarch, has left Balmoral Castle for Edinburgh.
                
The Queen died at the castle in Scotland on Thursday.
                
The hearse carrying her coffin departed on Sunday morning.
                
The coffin is draped in the Royal Standard flag. It is also adorned with a wreath of the Queen&#039;s favorite flowers.
                
Large crowds gathered along the road outside a church near the castle in the early morning.
                
After arriving in Edinburgh, the coffin will travel in a procession to St. Giles&#039; Cathedral on Monday. The public will be allowed to view the coffin in the afternoon.
                
On Tuesday, the Queen&#039;s body will be flown to London on a Royal Air Force plane.
                
On Wednesday, the coffin will be placed in Westminster Hall, the oldest building on the Parliamentary estate.
                
The Queen will lie in state for four days. The public will be able to pay their respects before the state funeral is held on September 19.
