Vietnamese man fatally stabbed near Tokyo NHK

A 57-year-old Vietnamese man has been stabbed to death on a street in the city of Kawasaki, near Tokyo. A man carrying a knife was seen running from the scene.

Police say the victim, found bleeding on the street late on Sunday, was rushed to a hospital but confirmed dead.

They say he was a company employee of Vietnamese nationality named Nguyen Dai Hiep.

The police say he was stabbed in the chest with a knife. The weapon has not yet been found at the scene. They have opened a murder investigation and are looking for the attacker.

The stabbing took place in a busy area near Kawasaki Station with many restaurants and other businesses.

The police are asking people in the area if they had seen anyone suspicious, while urging them to exercise caution.

The police also say they learned from interviews with the victim's friends that another Vietnamese may be able to offer more details about the incident.
