Japan Airlines has canceled 282 flights that had been scheduled to arrive at or depart from airports on Sunday, mainly in Shikoku and Kyushu.
All Nippon Airways has canceled 53 flights that had been scheduled to arrive at or depart from airports in Kagoshima, Miyazaki and elsewhere on Sunday, and four such flights on Monday.
Other airlines are also canceling flights, including those that had been scheduled to arrive at or depart from Kyushu or Shikoku into Monday.
Airlines are calling on customers to check their websites for possible further changes in services.
