Weekend draws more mourners to London's Westminster Hall NHK

Mourners continue to gather at Westminster Hall to pay their last respects to Britain's Queen Elizabeth II.

At one point on Saturday, the British government warned that the wait time in the queue could be as long as 24 hours.

Local media also reported the viewing line could extend up to 16 kilometers, and warned that visitors would not be able to sit and take a rest as the line had to be kept moving.

The London Ambulance Service said paramedics treated 435 people along the queue on Wednesday and Thursday, and that 42 of them were taken to hospital.

People at the end of the line said they were willing to wait as long as it takes, with some even saying they brought food to camp out overnight.

Westminster Hall is inviting mourners until 6:30 a.m. on Monday, the day of the state funeral.
