World leaders are set to deliver speeches at the UN General Assembly in person for the first time in three years.
                
The speeches begin at UN headquarters in New York on Tuesday morning. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the annual session was all virtual in 2020 and was a hybrid in 2021.
                
The speech schedule was changed, as some leaders, including US President Joe Biden, headed to London to attend the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. They are expected to arrive in New York directly from London.
                
The latest gathering comes as fierce fighting continues in Ukraine. It remains to be seen how leaders will lay out their stances on the conflict.
                
Japan&#039;s Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, French President Emmanuel Macron and South Korea&#039;s President Yoon Suk-yeol are among the leaders slated to give speeches on the first day of the session on Tuesday. US President Biden is scheduled to speak on the following day.
                
A pre-recorded video address by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be played, after the proposal to let him do so was approved by UN member states.
                
On the sidelines of the assembly, the Security Council is to hold a ministerial-level meeting on Thursday to discuss the situation in Ukraine. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov are expected to attend.
