Ukrainian President tells Russians to 'flee or surrender' NHK

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukrainian troops are preparing for their "next series of victories." On Monday, he warned Russian soldiers in his country they have only two options: flee or surrender.

Zelenskyy accused the Russians of "endangering" the whole world. His office released video he says shows Russian missiles hitting a facility in the southern region of Mykolaiv. The complex includes the Pivdennoukrainsk nuclear plant, Ukraine's second largest.

Officials with the national energy operator Energoatom reported an explosion 300 meters from the reactors. They said the plant is operating normally. They did not report any casualties.

The Russians have not responded to the accusations. But they announced they had carried out a series of strikes to the southeast. They released video claiming to have destroyed a facility used to repair HIMARS, rocket systems supplied by the US.

Russian officials made their own accusations. They said the Ukrainians had shelled Donetsk, a city controlled by Russian-backed separatists. Mayor Alexei Kulemzin said they killed 13 civilians, including two children.
