The top diplomats of Japan, the United States and South Korea have expressed serious concern over North Korea&#039;s escalating nuclear and missile development. They reaffirmed a strong and resolute response to any further provocations by the North.
                
Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin in New York on Thursday.
                
The three reaffirmed their commitment to strong trilateral cooperation, as well as enhancing deterrence through the Japan-US alliance and the US-South Korea alliance.
                
With China&#039;s growing maritime activities and economic coercion in mind, the three countries affirmed a shared commitment to support the needs and priorities of their regional partners. They also emphasized the importance of trilateral cooperation to strengthen the rules-based economic order.
                
On the situation in Ukraine, the three countries condemned Russia&#039;s aggression and expressed unwavering support for Ukrainian sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. They stressed that they will oppose any attempts to change the status quo by force.
