Researchers have compiled a list of more than 125,000 people of Japanese ancestry who were incarcerated in the United States as hostile aliens during World War Two.
                
About 500 people attended a ceremony to store the book of names at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles on Saturday.
                
The &quot;Ireicho&quot; book contains the names of all those who were held in 75 internment camps across the United States.  Relatives helped to confirm the information in declassified government documents.
                
A 79-year-old man who was born in one of the camps says he is impressed that the names of all the incarcerated people are now in one place.
                
A professor at the University of Southern California, Duncan Williams, played a central role in compiling the book. He says persons of Japanese ancestry were targeted as if they were an undifferentiated mass of people who were disloyal and a threat to national security.
                
He says his group is trying to repair that history and to make sure such incidents do not happen again.
