IAEA: New shelling and blasts at Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant NHK

The International Atomic Energy Agency says the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine was hit by shelling and explosions again.

The IAEA said shelling took place on Monday afternoon near the electrical switchyard a few hundred meters from the plant's training center.

The IAEA said there are no reports of damage to structures and equipment, but the blasts broke windows of a building.

The nuclear watchdog added that the cause of the explosions is unclear.

The incidents are believed to have occurred just after IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi called for ensuring the plant's safety at the agency's annual conference in Vienna.
