The head of Ukraine&#039;s Center for Civil Liberties, the group that received this year&#039;s Nobel Peace Prize, said she sees the prize as a tribute to Ukrainians who are fighting for freedom.
                
Oleksandra Matviychuk, the director of the Ukrainian human rights organization held a news conference in Kyiv on Saturday.
                
She said, &quot;the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded to all people in Ukraine who fight for freedom with all your senses.&quot;
                
The group was founded to promote human rights and democracy in the country. After the invasion of Ukraine in February, the center began working to identify and document evidence of Russian war crimes, interviewing Ukrainian citizens across the country.
Matviychuk also said it may seem contradictory to receive the prize when the war is still ongoing, but added she sees this as a hope.
                
This year&#039;s prize was awarded also to Belarusian activist, Ales Bialiatski and the Russian human rights organization, Memorial.
