Japan's health ministry confirms 2,605 new cases of coronavirus in Tokyo NHK

Japan's health ministry says it confirmed 2,605 new cases of the coronavirus in Tokyo on Saturday.

The daily tally is down 1,229 from a week ago.

The ministry also said seven deaths were confirmed in the capital.

The number of seriously ill patients on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines is 10, unchanged from Friday.

Nationwide, ministry officials confirmed 26,785 new cases and 83 deaths on Saturday.
