Johnny & Associates removes name sign from Tokyo headquarters NHK

A Japanese talent agency under fire for sex abuse by its late founder has removed the name sign from its headquarters building.

Gondolas were suspended beside the signboard atop the Johnny & Associates building in Tokyo on Thursday. Sources say the operation to take down the name ended about 30 minutes past midnight on Friday morning.

The company said on Monday it would change its name to "SMILE-UP" on October 17, and dissolve its business after compensating Johnny Kitagawa's victims.
