The foreign ministers of Japan, the United States, and South Korea have issued a joint statement condemning North Korea's launches on Sunday and Monday of ballistic missiles that included an ICBM.
The joint statement says North Korea's "continued provocations pose a grave threat to the Korean Peninsula, the region, and international peace and security."
It says the launches are "yet again blatant violations" of multiple UN Security Council resolutions.
The statement urges North Korea to abide by the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and immediately cease all activities that violate them.
It also says that Japan, the United States, and South Korea welcome the full activation on Tuesday of a trilateral mechanism that allows real-time sharing of North Korean missile warning data.
The three countries say they will continue to work closely with the international community to block the illicit revenue generation that is funding North Korea's unlawful weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs through cyberattacks and other means.
They urge North Korea to stop conducting further provocations and to accept their call for engaging in substantive dialogue without preconditions.
