India&#039;s foreign ministry held a news conference on Saturday, saying that the country agreed with Pakistan that &quot;both sides would stop all firing and military action on land and in the air and sea&quot; with effect from 5 p.m., local time.

Military exchanges between the two countries have been continuing for the past several days.

US President Donald Trump said on Saturday in his social media post, &quot;After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE.&quot;
        
                    
                  
Meanwhile, Indian and Pakistani military forces stationed in the disputed Kashmir region still remain on high alert.
