A: Hey! Did you hear about the news coming from China? It’s kind of crazy!

B: No, what happened? Tell me!

A: Apparently, they're investigating two big military guys! Like, really high up.

B: Wow! What are they suspected of doing?

A: They’re saying they broke rules and laws, but they’re not saying exactly *what* yet.

B: Seriously? This is happening a lot, isn't it? I remember hearing about others before.

A: Yeah! It's been a series of investigations.  One of the guys they’re looking at is super important – he's basically the top uniformed officer!

B: That’s huge!  Is this because of President Xi? He seems pretty powerful.

A: He *is*!  And he leads the commission. It’s wild because, out of the seven members, five have been investigated, *besides* him and one other guy!

B: Five! That’s almost everyone! It sounds like they’re really cracking down.

A: Totally!  They already kicked out a previous vice chairman and even two former defense ministers.

B: That's a lot of people losing their positions. I wonder what's really going on.
