N.Korea says it will expel US soldier NHK

North Korea says it will expel a US soldier who crossed into the country through Panmunjom in July.

The state-run Korean Central News Agency reported on Wednesday that authorities reached the decision on Private Travis King based on the country's laws after finishing their investigation. But it did not say how he will be expelled.

King, who was stationed in South Korea, crossed the military demarcation line without permission while on a civilian tour of the Joint Security Area.

Pyongyang quoted King as saying that he made the illegal entry because he harbored "ill feeling against inhuman maltreatment and racial discrimination within the US Army" and was "disillusioned about the unequal US society."

US media are reporting that before entering the North, King was about to be sent back to the US to face disciplinary action.
