Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang has called on certain countries to stop fueling the fire in the Ukraine crisis, apparently referring to the US and its allies. The foreign minister made the remarks on Tuesday in an address to a forum in Beijing. He said China is deeply concerned about the escalation of the Ukraine crisis and the possibility of it spiraling out of control. On Monday, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson told reporters that it is the United States, not China, that has been supplying weapons to the battlefield in Ukraine. He said the US is in no position to tell China what to do. Beijing appears to be ratchetting up its criticisms against Washington after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Saturday told Wang Yi, his Chinese counterpart, about his concern that Beijing may provide "lethal support to Russia."
