Gangster arrested over restaurant magnate murder NHK

Japanese police have arrested a gangster currently serving time in prison. It is over the deadly shooting of restaurant magnate almost a decade ago.

In 2013, Ohigashi Takayuki was gunned down in front of the headquarters of "Gyoza no Ohsho" in Kyoto. The Chinese dumpling chain operates hundreds of outlets across Japan, and overseas.

Investigators have implicated Tanaka Yukio in the killing. He is a senior member of "Kudo-kai," a Yakuza group based out of Fukuoka. He has already been convicted for an unrelated shooting case.

Police say DNA collected from cigarette butts found near the murder scene matched that of the suspect.

Investigators say Tanaka is suspected to have killed the restaurant chain owner at someone else's request.
