India vows punishing terrorists over attack NHK

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi vows to punish the terrorists involved in Tuesday's attack.



Modi was speaking at a rally in the eastern state of Bihar where he paid his tribute to the victims on Thursday. He said, "India will identify, track, and punish every terrorist and their backers. We will pursue them to the ends of the Earth."



On the same day, thousands of people staged a protest outside the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.



Concerns are growing that military tensions between the two countries may escalate again.



In 2019, India conducted an airstrike inside Pakistan after a suicide bombing carried out by a Pakistani Islamic militant group in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir killed 40 soldiers.
Pakistan responded by shooting down an Indian fighter jet and capturing a pilot, who was later released.
