Multiple Japanese companies, including Honda Motor, Canon, and several banks such as Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Mizuho Bank, Development Bank of Japan, are planning to invest in Rapidus, a domestic semiconductor maker. 2. The investment could amount up to approximately 25 billion yen (160.4 million dollars), with Hokkaido Electric Power Company and North Pacific Bank also considering investing. 3. Rapidus aims to raise around 834 million dollars from private companies this fiscal year, and has announced a fundraising plan through fiscal 2031. Additionally, three megabanks have reportedly offered loans of up to 12.8 billion yen (79.5 million dollars), with the Japanese government pledging more than 17.9 billion yen in funding. The focus now is on whether Rapidus can deliver results that match this significant support.
