Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio has expressed his condolences for the victims and to the families of those who died at a stampede in Seoul's Itaewon district. Kishida posted on twitter on Sunday saying he is deeply shocked and saddened by the loss of so many lives including young people. He also said he hopes for quick recovery of those who were injured. US President Joe Biden has also released a statement on Saturday, saying he and his wife "send our deepest condolences to the families who lost loved ones in Seoul." The statement also said they "grieve with the people of South Korea", and that the United States stands with South Korea during this tragic time.
